I welcome you with the ancient words of the Holy Temple: “Baruch ha’bah b’shem adonai” ("Be welcome you that come here, in the name of God, and you are specially blessed").
The decision to take on a Jewish religious identity is both significant and complex. The choice affects many areas of one's life: from self-concept and family relationships through the type of life style one adopts. While the resulting rewards and sense of fulfillment can be enormous, the challenges and frustrations can sometimes also seem overwhelming. Conscious of both the challenges and the opportunities, the purpose of this document is to; introduce the process of choosing Judaism, explain how I perceive the rabbi's role within that process, outline your spouse's role, describe your responsibilities in the process of choosing Judaism.

I started this blog as a place to reflect upon my conversion process when I began my journey into Judaism. Now with my conversion complete (2006) my blog seems to have evolved and continues to evolve into something more comprehensive and inclusive of the many different aspects of my life.
It has certainly blossomed into more than just a blog about conversion or Jewish life, although Judaism remains a dominant theme.
A new guide to conversion to Judaism is now available online, with detailed information on the conversion process, rituals, official procedures, and the assistance offered to converts.
Conversion to Judaism is not to be taken lightly. It is a long, complex process during which the convert expresses, in both words and deeds, his true wish to join the Jewish religion and the Jewish people. Conversion is especially important for new immigrants who have been maintaining a Jewish identity but are not considered Jewish according to the Halacha.
